What is IT is an organisation developed to promote Information Technology learning to the residents of Stobswell and surrounding areas as a means of pursuing enjoyable relaxation whilst promoting lifelong learning skills, building confidence and acting as a stepping stone into more academic learning.

 

 

 

Boomerang is a branded Learndirect Scotland  learning centre and is an accredited training centre with both the British Computer Society and the Scottish Qualifications Authority and is licenced to deliver

  • PC Passport

The project is open 5 days per week, Monday - Friday, with a specialist IT tutor on hand to provide support and tuition to learners, catering for all abilities from basic computing to accredited European Computer Driving License in our fully fitted IT suite.

 

The Key aim of the organisation is to develop a safe, welcoming place in the heart of the community, which would become the focus for the community developing and learning opportunities and drawing the wider community together to reverse the general decline of the area and to promote community regeneration.

  

 

The Project's Objectives are:

  • To identify learning needs and issues within the community
  • To improve the quality of life for the most disadvantaged in the community by developing personal learning programmes
  • Deliver IT training to enhance employment prospects and provide development of skills/interests.
