BBQ

The Young volunteers hoasted a fancy dress BBQ for the younger members of the Boomerang youth inititive. The volunteers planned all aspects of the night with the sole purpose of coming together with the children from the Kanga Klub. The night was a great success with 17 kids aged 8-12 years, from the Kanga Klub attending. The 8 young volunteers provided the BBQ, played games and generally interacted with the kids in what was a great evening.

Boomerang hosted a surprise 60th party for one of their longest serving volunteers on Friday 31st July.

Linda Anderson has been a volunteer playgroup leader working with toddlers in the Stobswell area for the past 15 years.  Linda, who is 60 on Friday, has been a volunteer crèche and playgroup leader since Boomerang opened its doors in 1999.

A fanatical home baker she sells her baking in Boomerang to support the groups she runs taking the kids on outings and organising parties.

Linda has worked tirelessly to provide the parents and toddlers of Stobswell with a safe and friendly environment to socialise and meet three times per week.

Linda still keeps in touch with some of the 300-400 kids who have passed through the playgroup over the years and is regarded very highly by both Boomerang and the parents and children who have and still do use this service.
